We welcome Mareesha back to work and getting back into the swing of things. Kirsten Winter will continue on for approximately a week doing half time as Mareesha builds up to a full day again. Then when Mareesha's baby arrives, Kirsten will come back to us full time. Just wanted you to know what we were working on with this particular part of our staffing.
It is unfortunate but we will be saying goodbye to Karen Vega from our Resource Room. Please join us in thanking Karen for her service to our special needs students and for supporting Stephanie Victorian. We have interviewed for a replacement para and should be getting that position filled soon. (4/26)

Green Shirt Fridays
This is a reminder that PDC election rules allow you to wear your green Bethel bond shirts at school during the work day as a matter of personal rights of expression. So that means that it is indeed ok for you to join together on Fridays, or any other day for that matter, to wear your shirt. (4/12)
Administrative Intern
Our very own Kathy Horton-Schmidt is working on her administrative credential. She will be doing some intern activities from now until the end of the year. A current activity is helping the office with ordering of supplies for next year. The district has made further revisions to the supply list and the coming year has students purchasing very few items. That means the school will be responsible for taking on the purchasing of supplies that grade levels request. I have asked Kathy to work with every grade level team to create a second supply list of what the building should buy in addition to the few items we are now allowed to request from families. When it is all done, I will be reviewing and making decisions on the following:
1. District supply list (This is a fixed list sent to parents that cannot be added to in any way.)
2. A grade level team wish list (Stephen will review and give final approvals.)
3. Individual teacher wish lists (Stephen will review and give final approvals.)
Please be prompt once Kathy sends out requests for information so that we can have your needs reviewed before you leave for the summer break. Thank you to you and to Kathy for working on this. (4/12)

Update on Mareesha
Mareesha continues to struggle with the concussion symptoms. She went to her doctor yesterday and was told that she should not return to work yet. There has been significant improvement but her doctor is concerned about the intensity of work and driving such a long distance twice a day. (4/12)
March of Dimes - Walk America
This week Jamie will be talking about Walk America to all of her music classes this week. Please watch for collection boxes to be placed in your classrooms this week. They will be the same little boxes she used last year. Our school goal last year was to raise $1000.00 and we surpassed that by raising $1298. She would like to keep our goal the same for this year.
The Walk will be held at Cheney Stadium on Saturday, May 14th. If you would like to register and walk with team North Star, please let me know. More information will come to you and your students as I receive it from the district. (4/12)
