Math Teacher Cohort Leader Needed - Updated

Our new cohort leader will be Laura Attaway.  Thank you Laura.

Bryan Hamblin will no longer be able to represent North Star on the district Math Teacher Leader Cohort committee.  If you would be interested in this position please let Stephen know.  For more information feel free to touch base with Bryan.  Below is the reminder that was sent to leaders yesterday.

Our next Math Teacher Leader Cohort Meeting will be Thursday, January 21 from 4:30-6:30 pm at the Transportation Center. I'm looking forward to getting together, hearing about how math is going in your school, and sharing resources and plans for upcoming training. I'll be posting the agenda in the Canvas Course in the next few days.

Reward Option Available
Limeberry, the frozen yogurt restaurant, is offering a free 4 oz yogurt to students as a reward.  You can use this as an incentive if you like.  A copy of the reward certificates is hanging by one of the copiers in the workroom.  Feel free to copy as you see fit. (1/14)

Valentines for Vets

Congressman Denny Heck has launched his fourth annual Valentines for Veterans Drive, asking for elementary school students from around the South Sound to decorate cards thanking our local veterans for their service to our country. Local schools are encouraged to incorporate theValentines for Veterans Drive into the regular art curriculum, and students of all grade levels and ages are welcome to participate. Anyone wishing to participate may drop off Valentine’s Day cards at Congressman Heck’s District Office (1423 East 29th Street, Suite 203, in Tacoma) weekdays between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm prior to or on February 12. Congressman Heck and his office will then deliver the cards to the American Lake VA and other locations in the South Sound, including local chapters of The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) on Valentine’s Day.
