Safety Committee

Yearbook Deadline Extended

The deadline for pre-ordering yearbooks was extended to next Friday, 1/30, because of the mix up with the order forms.  Please let your students know.  (1/23)

Team Spirit Day

Friday, January 30, will be a day to show your team spirit.  Most of us will be wearing blue & green, however all are encouraged to wear their favorite team's colors.  Hats will be allowed.  Please pass the word to your kids.  (1/22/15)

Safety Issues

There will be a Safety committee meeting Friday morning, 1/16.  Meeting was rescheduled to 1/30.  Please bring any safety concerns to a member of the Safety committee:  Stephen Rushing, Leslie Thorson, Cathy Haley, Patrick Lyle, or Jack Nealy. (1/15/15) (1/20)

Online Emergency Forms
In the upcoming days you will receive a new prompt when you log into Skyward EA+ requesting you to complete an Emergency Contacts online form.  You will continue to be prompted to complete the form until you have completed this process.  Please complete the form by January 30, 2015.  Refer to the email from Krista Carlson from 1/9 for step-by-step instructions.  (1/14/15)


Technology Survey
Thank you for helping the district and our school gather data about technology access, support and learning.  Please use the following links to access the survey.   For more information on the survey you can watch a 50 second video here.

Teachers should fill out this Teacher Form.  (For teachers in all grades.)

Students filling out the form individually in classrooms should fill out this Student Form. (Only for students in grades 3-5.)

Students filling out the form in a laptop cart/computer lab setting should fill out this Lab Form. (Only for students in grades 3-5.)

Please have the survey completed by January 30.  Let's get 100% teacher and student participation.  (1/14/15)

Extended Day Meeting

A meeting has been scheduled for planning and implementation of an extended day reading program with the remaining DODEA grant funding.  An invitation to the meeting was sent out to those who had expressed interest earlier in the year.  However, if you have changed your mind or are unsure and want to know more about it then please feel free to join us tomorrow, Tuesday, January 14, at 3:45 in Stephen's office.  If we have too many for his office then we can move to another space in the building.  (1/12/15)

Focused Evaluation Track Meetings

Tomorrow, Tuesday, January 14, I will be meeting all day with those of you on the Focused Evaluation Track.  These will be brief meetings to touch base on the following:

1. What State Criteria you have selected for this year.
2. Observation scheduling and procedures.
3. How to document evaluation activities in the eVal system.

 Please bring the TPEP booklet called Focus on Quality Instruction (the booklet copied on newsprint paper) (1/12/15)

Winter DIBELS Testing

Winter DIBELS testing will be Tuesday, 1/20 through Thursday, 1/22.  We'll be doing only reading DIBELS on these days.  Larissa has requested additional time for math DIBELS, which will likely happen toward the end of January / beginning of February.

Please look over this schedule and make sure the planned time works for you.  As always, though, you are asked to please be flexible if this doesn't go just as planned! 

Grades 3-5, please pull out your DIBELS DAZE booklets and administer the winter test some time between 1/12 and 1/22. An administration / scoring guide will be put in your boxes.  You may score these yourself or give them to Larissa to score.  She will then need to enter the scores into the system.

Grades 1-2, please pull out your DIBELS Computation (1st and 2nd) and Concepts & Applications (2nd only) booklets and administer the winter test some time between 1/12 and 1/30.  You may score these yourself or give them to Larissa to score.  She will then need to enter the scores into the system.

PTA News

-Boxtops will be collected from classrooms on Tuesday, January 13.  
-Yearbook collage pages are due to PTA by January 23.  

-Volunteers are needed to help with Bingo night on January 30.  Please consider signing up.

FOSS Kit Pickup

Teachers in grades K-3, please bring your FOSS kits to the office no later than Thursday, 1/16, for pickup.  I do not know if they will be bringing the next kits at that time. Please inventory all items, noting missing or broken items on the inventory sheet then place the inventory sheet back into the teacher's guide.

PJ Day - Not Hat Day

Wednesday, Jan. 7 is a PTA-sponsored pajama day.  This is a pre-planned event.  The PJ day on 12/19 was more spontaneous. Please let kids know there is a PJ DAY ON WEDNESDAY, LATE START.  (1/5/15; 1:10)
